Ebony Bowers
BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy, HCPC & RCOP registered Occupational Therapist
Ebony is an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist and neurodiversity-affirming assessor with experience across neurodevelopmental diagnostic settings, specialist and mainstream education, and inpatient mental health. She brings a person-centred and strengths-based approach to everything she does, grounded in a genuine belief that understanding how someone experiences the world (not just how they present within it) is the foundation of meaningful support.
Ebony's clinical background spans ADHD, Autism, and Dyspraxia assessment and post-diagnostic support, with a particular focus on the functional and sensory dimensions of neurodivergent experience. Ebony has experience offering assessments using DSM-5 and ICD-11 criteria and contributing to multi-disciplinary formulation in teams. Ebony brings both clinical rigour and real warmth to the assessment process.
As someone who's neurodivergent herself, Ebony understands first-hand how much it matters to be assessed by someone who genuinely gets it - and her lived experience meaningfully shapes how she holds space for the people she works with.
Therapeutic Approach:
Ebony's approach is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practice that goes beyond language. She is particularly interested in how neurodivergent differences show up in daily life - in routines, relationships, environments, and the things that feel harder than they should - and in working alongside people to make sense of those experiences and find what actually helps.
She brings a sensory-informed lens to her work, recognising that sensory processing differences are often central to how neurodivergent people navigate the world, and that sustainable support needs to take those differences seriously.
